Lansing Radio: WQTX Adds Ryan Schuiling Afternoon Show

Ryan Schuiling
Ryan Schuiling is leaving WBBL 107.3 FM The Ball morning sports show in Grand Rapids for a new afternoon show in Lansing.

"The Schuiling Report" airs 1-3 p.m. weekdays on Fox Sports WQTX 92.1 FM The Team.

Schuiling said his show will feature interviews with beat writers and sports figures and weekly contributors. The time slot is unique, Schuiling said, for sports topics.

"That 1 to 3 slot there might not be as many callers necessarily at that time, but there is a lot of news that breaks during that time and there will be a lot of sources we'll try and get on the air to lead into the afternoon discussion," he said. "So much changes from the morning drive to the afternoon drive, and for that 1 to 3 slot, there aren't a lot of local alternatives."

Schuiling is also preparing for his sixth season with the Toledo Walleye (ECHL-Red Wings) in 2015-16, making his debut as their radio play-by-play announcer for all home games during the 2010-11 season. He followed the team through three rounds of the Kelly Cup playoffs, calling each and every post-season game during the team's historic 2014-15 run.

His baseball experience includes three summers (2011-13) as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Billings Mustangs (R-Reds), as well as calling the middle innings for all West Michigan Whitecaps (A-Tigers) home games in 2015.
