Clay Hunnicutt
iHeartMedia's Clay Hunnicutt is leaving to head-up a start-up music label Big Loud Records.

He's been EVP/GM for National Programming Playform since February 2014.

In a memo to the staff, Pres./National Programming Platforms Tom Poleman wrote, "After more than 15 years here with us, Clay Hunnicutt has decided to leave iHeartMedia to become President of Big Loud Records, a record label start-up. Clay has not only been a great partner to me in the day to day operations of National Programming, he’s also become a great friend; I know you all feel the same. He’s been a pioneer and leader in shaping the great company that we are today, and for that I’ll always be thankful. "

Clay Hunnicutt began his 24 year radio career in Chattanooga at US-101 FM while still in college at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He began as an unpaid intern in the Production Department which turned into a part time position, then Production Director, Imaging Director, Assistant Program Director, and ultimately Program Director of the 9 time CMA Radio Station of the Year. Clay also spent a year and a half as Program Director of WGAR-FM in Cleveland, Ohio.

That was followed by a 3 year tour of duty as the Director of Programming for Clear Channel’s 5 station cluster in Nashville, TN. (WSIX, WRVW, WLAC, WNRQ, and WUBT).

iHeartMedia has not announced a replacement
