Milwaukee Radio: WTMJ-AM Tops Jan. PPM Ratings

WTMJ 620 AM topped the Milwaukee radio market in January, with a 10.9 share among overall listeners, according to a Nielsen PPMs released Friday.

That's up 1.1 from the news-talk-sports station's showing in the holiday ratings period, which ran from Dec. 4-31. Part of the boost likely came from Packers playoffs and broadcasts of the resurgent Bucks.

WRIT 95.7 FM, which shifted to an all-Christmas format for the season, led the holiday ratings period with a 12.2 share but came back down to earth in January with a 7.0 share — good enough for third place, and still better than the 6.1 share the oldies station had in the month before the Christmas-music switch.

Country station WMIL 106.1 FM, which dropped from a 10.2 share in the preholidays book to an 8.8 in the holiday period, jumped back to a 9.8, putting it in second place in the overall ratings sweepstakes.
