Cincy Radio: Trial For Talk Host Seylhouwer Starts

The case of former radio host Blake Seylhouwer attracted national attention when a story unfolded with bitter divorce accusations of violence, lies, sex addiction and child pornography.

But, according to WCPO-TV9, as tawdry and complicated as the case appears, it all boils down to a single question that jurors must answer when the criminal trial begins Monday in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas: Did Seylhouwer knowingly fire a gun to harm his wife?

Or was it an accident?

“Intent will be critical. Jurors will have to decide if he intended to harm her,” said Mark Krumbein, a longtime criminal defense attorney who has handled similar cases. He analyzed the case exclusively for WCPO.

Seylhouwer, 36, who owns Jani-King, the largest commercial cleaning company in Cincinnati and hosted a weekly brokered show on small business on WKRC 550 AM, faces up to 11 years in prison if convicted. He is charged with two counts of felonious assault and one domestic violence misdemeanor.
